The chateau was built by the Klettenhofs in the mid-19th century. The original chateau park became the basis of today's Arboretum, which also includes the chateau, which is now used as an administrative building. The history of the Arboretum in Nový Dvůr dates back to 1906, when Quido Riedel acquired the Nový Dvůr estate and gradually created a natural and landscape park on a small area of ​​1.8 ha. After World War II, however, the park came under the administration of a number of institutions, lost professional supervision and quickly fell into disrepair. In 1958, it was transferred to the Silesian Museum, which established an arboretum there.
